Just Beyond This Path by SalemCat Just Beyond This Path by SalemCat
Smile and think of me.
Life means what it has always meant.
The link is not severed.
Why should I be out of your soul if I am out of your sight?
I will wait for you, I am not here, but just on the other side of this path.
--St. Augustine

For anyone who has lost someone they love..
Dedicated to My Parents...

Taken off of River Road next to Evergreen Plantation. This road has always been known as Slave Allee. Louisiana

Thank you so much, I'm glad you like it. This road actually is very haunted. It is near Evergreen Plantation on the Great River Road here in Southern Louisiana.. This is the Road that the slaves would have to walk on to get to the Cane Fields..It was a very hard life for them..The Road is called Slave Allee (Alley).

I always love pictures like this. It's like some kind of mysterious pathway. I wish there was a place around here like that...where the trees just grow over the road/path. It's a rather relaxing scene to me. Love it.

It is in Louisiana, not that far from New Orleans off of River Road.River Road is where most of our old Plantation Homes are. This road was walked day and night by the slaves working in the sugar cane fields. It was a life of extreme hardship..some people have reported seeing them still walking this road..Thank you for your interest in this photo! :D

This photo was taken in Louisiana, not that far from New Orleans off of River Road.River Road is where most of our old Plantation Homes are. This road is still known by Slave Allee (Alley) And was walked day and night by the slaves working in the sugar cane fields by nearby Evergreen Plantation. It was a life of extreme hardship..I'm sure the only hope they had was seeing the light at the end of this path, when their mortal bodies left this world to journey to another place where they would now be free! To this day, some people have reported seeing the slaves from long ago still walking this road..Thank you for your interest in this photo! :D

oh wow, thats really interesting. photos are always so much better when there is true sentimental value to the location, rather than "it looked cool." Kudos to you!

Thank you so much for both your fav and comment! It is a very haunted road.It is called Slave Allee (Alley). This road was traveled by many slaves back and forth from the fields..It was a great hardship to bear.It is said that you can still see them walking this path.
